all 1/10 scale.

there is a off road club called CREC on Botleray road which has a huch 1/8th outdoor off road track: they run 1/8th buggies (gas and electric) and 1/8th truggies (gas and electric). They had a National event earlier on this year there at the track. Its freeking cool!!!!

your DF03 will fall under 4wd buggy. Come join us. cheers

Thanks Nev! The other guys are Duane, Charl, Wynand, Suleiman, Shane, Francois, Andrew and lots of people who helped by supplying us with all kinds of stuff and some cash donations. We got lots of wood from Shaun, Neville, Jaco from UBS who also supplied the carpet and Ray from Cape Extreme RC/Panel Craft Panel beaters. Marius helped out where he could and is still helping out with time off on race nights. This track would not have been possible without any of these guys and the owners of the building, Oom Shorty and Tannie Wilma. The lap timing system was built special for this track by Andre van Zyl (Andre Gas) who also wrote the software for the system. There is also My wife who put up with allot of c*@% over the 9 month period and helped with the painting of the boards and batons.

A little bit about the track and facilities.
We have approximately 95m of track in it's current layout. Race control is lock up and go. The driver stand is 6.3mx1.5x1m steel construction with another 1m railing. There is a 330mm barrier all around the track to keep the cars from hitting spectators. There is a smoke room for people like me. Food and beverages are always available and his and hers bathrooms on the ground floor. There are tables on hand as well that we share between the drift and off-road guys, but we are getting our own tables shortly. No more car batteries to carry around either as power is available. The best part is the roof! NO MORE RAIN OUTS!

Race nights is every second Wednesday for now with 2 classes running per night. Entry is a flat R30.00 for first class and R20.00 for second. We practice on non race Wednesdays from 6-11pm and Sundays from 12-6pm. Practice days are R20.00 for the day. This money goes towards rent for the floor space and gets paid at the door to the owners.

I hope this gives you guys insight into what we are doing. Any questions, just ask.

Hi guys. We have moved our racing to Saturday after noons with all classes running on the same day. We had our first Saturday race yesterday and it was a huge success with 24 entries. We changed it to make it more accessible for the younger crowd and people who work on a Saturday morning.
