Spoke to Johan this morning to tell him to start looking for guesthouses that can accommodate 12 or more of us. If he can't find any we'll have to settle for the F1, but we'll book the ground floor for sure, no climbing 3 floors of stairs with all that gear again!!! Laughing Laughing

Hey Sam I see they dont run FF03 Shocked

Also I note that TT01 rules are aligned with Tamiya Cup. In TC though they dont allow Subaru B4 body in TT01's. Do you know if this body can be used for CC in TT01 or not

Also the Subaru B4 is a Tamiya body so maybe Sam cant just confirm with the guys.

23t is a lekka class Smile

And like in the cape town leg, the FF03's were run in the FWD touring class with the Sabre's.

Maybe if there is a enough guys for 2 heats then they can split it to FF03's only in the one heat...?

@ SamJr: the reason why in Tamiya Cup they don't allow the Saubura B4 body is, its like a "Race Blob" body. It will be at a major advantage to ride one of those bodies esp in TT01 class where its limited gearing, esc, etc....? But hey at R500 a body who is going to buy it just for PE....?

With so many guys changing and having the brushless systems (17.5 / 13.5)......do you think 23 turn will get many entries, just asking?

I have no idea. But there were a lot in the cape town leg. 6-8 entries if I'm not mistaken. But non from PE. So maybe SamJr must ask all cape Town guys if we can scrap the class and do a FF03 only class instead and also ask PE guys if that's ok....I'm easy either way....

1. FF's are fwd chassis and will be run with all other fwd chassis as stated in the rules. Why would you want to split them? In every other class different brands of chassis compete against each other fairly except obviously for TT class. Also, we're travelling there to race against our competitors, not to race our own team mates, we do that here week in and week out. This class doesn't count towards points as the kzn guys don't do this class. If there is to be any splitting done in this class, it will be to take the pan cars into their own heat if the kzn guys bring alot of them cause they're waaaaaaay too fast for the fwd cars as seen at parow.

2. The Tamiya Subaru body is used in PE in their TT class and shows no advantage over the next, the class is too slow for it to have any superior aerodynamic advantage. So yes, the Tamiya Subaru body will be allowed.

3. 23t was included in the classes because the kzn guys run the same class at all their clubs and at their nrda events. It has quite a following in kzn, so we'll have plenty of competition, it also wont count towards the trophy as it's not a PE class. The CT leg of CC had 10 entries in the heats, I think only 8 made the final.

Both these classes are fun exhibition classes to promote our hobby which is what this series is all about, please bear that in mind.

4. The TT rules for CC are aligned with all three regions' entry level TT classes, it is similar to TC, but they don't stem from there.

Re: Coastal Cup in PE - November 2012

Post  SammyD on Wed 12 Sep - 22:05

Nope, straight over my head unfortunately????

As for the date, it is basically confirmed, I haven't had any negative feedback from Rob or Ray or Colin. I did however send a mail last nite to all the other chairpersons in kzn to let them know about the date change as I haven't heard from Rob in a couple of days. I haven't as yet received any replies?? Don't know if that's a good or bad thing?? I also posted on FB under the CC page.

As for accom...I was on gumtree last nite looking around for large guesthouses that would cope with our whole team as was discussed post race last week, and found a few. Johan is also looking for us. I also found a place that can accom up to 100 people for groups like ours. So I dropped them a mail requesting more clarity on their venue and if there's spannering space and also for a group rate. Waiting to hear back from them too. So hang on a bit Ty before you make any bookings, or are you taking the famdamily again??? Mad Mad
I will post all the accom links once I've heard back from this place, and we can collectively choose a spot and make a reservation.

Anything else? Very Happy Very Happy

Guys, here's the best accom qoute I've got so far, R125pppn, and it's a few streets away from the track. Let me know soonest, the qoute expires in a day and a half.
