I've just gone through about 20 odd replies to my accom request for the trip, and the next cheapest quote I received was R9600 which is R200 pppn, this for establishments that can accom all of us together. Please indicate here before Thursday if the above quote is ok and if we're going this route. I have asked to provisionally reserve this place till we decide. If we accept we'll have to pay a deposit of 50% to make the reservation. Those that haven't gone to the link above, here is there quote from the mail:

Hi Dion,

We can accommodate your request as follows, 10 x adults accommodated in 1 x 8 sleeper dorm and 1 x twin room.
@ R 125.00 pp/pn x 4 nights = R 5000.00.

You will have full use of the backpackers self catering kitchen for the duration of your stay. We offer off street secure parking for 5 vehicles behind an automated gate.

Trusting the above is in order we look forward to accommodating you.

Kind Regards
Grant

You can see 2nd Ave on the left centre in the pic which is 1 street away from the track, so it's close by, maybe we can just crawl home on Saturday nite?? Laughing Laughing

I had to make a very tough decision guys....and unfortunetly i cant go anymore to PE. I chose to do Tamiya Cup this year so i cant miss the Cape Town Finals which is happening the weekend after PE trip...i know you saying why cant i do both...but i cant, it will be unfair to my family for me basically being away racing for 2 weekends. so this year i will have to take a miss and hopefully do it next year.

Sorry. Sad

coastal cup Nov 2012

Post  ototw on Tue 18 Sep - 0:16

hi guys, friendly greetings from Port Elizabeth,a few facts about PE, which I found as fisherman/angler rock and surf that
the three days before a full moon are allways great weather conditions, but the day after a full moon, guarantee it rain and all hell break loose weathers wise.
I would like to go ahead with advertizing the event, as I've been advised via sam the dates are now the 17th and 18th Nov 2012.----------? do you stick to these dates......?

to all the guys who will travel to PE and do not have the garmins or Tom Tom devices, here with I'll lead you to where u need to be:

you will find this turn-off about 12km before u reack PE,you r on the road to DRCCC

About 2km after this turn-off you will head to a little incline and once you on the edge, you will see city lights,"its PORT ELIZABETH" welcome you,not to far to go,nearly there.

once you get to this turn off, feel free to head straight along the N2,its still a few km to go,nearly there.
to be continued.......

road continuing..........
skip this turn-off ,its Cape Road, head straight alond with N2,BUT from now on reduce speed and keep left, the next turn off you need to keep far left lane

keep left as far as possible, its a nasty sharp left and reduce speed, rbot ahead, where u need to turn to right

you should be now total left on the left side off the grass next to N2
to be continued.........

road continue....
you need to turn right at robot and keep left, first road to the left you need to take, called burt drive, its a tar road that veer eventually to the right and become a cement block road.

follow the yellow dotted line.
