Tamiya Cup Finals: 24/25 November 2012

Post  skillz on Wed 24 Oct - 18:30

Howzit Guys.

Exactly one month from now it will be Tamiya Cup Cape Town Finals which will be held at PRCCC on the 24th and 25th November 2012.

I was at a meeting at Jeffory Stein last month to ask them if they can continue with the sponsorship for 2013 and to maybe expand it to another track (SPRCCC). Creslyn from SPRCCC and SamJr from TRCCC attended the meeting with me and all went well. The idea is to have Tamiya Cup 2013 to be run over 2 different tracks: PRCCC and SPRCCC.

So we will have races in the "north" and "south". SPRCCC will provide the track and TRCCC will provide the timing equipment for the "south races". So all was put forward and all looks good.

But...

Jeffory Stein will only make a decision in terms of continuing with the sponsorship into 2013 based on the turnout (in terms of entries) in the Finals. So I urge all the guys from the "south", from TRCCC and SPRCCC to please support the event and do as manyclasses as you can. Tamiya Cup is such a awesome cup and thing to be part of and produces good races and has potential to grow like in joburg.

It will be awesome if you guys could let me know what classes you guys can enter so we can get more or less an idea with the amount of entries from the south. It will be awesome if we can make up 40 entries from the south and then continue the support into 2013. And then hopefully in 2014, TRCCC's track can also be added to the Tamiya Cup Calendar and that will mean Tamiya Cup races will be spread over 3 different tracks. The future looks very bright guys but in order for all of this to come true we need your support. Please guys.

Thanks for your time.

Regards.

Nev

P.S. If you have any questions in regards to Tamiya Cup, feel free to ask.

@ 101: you can use ur tb evo in GT Mods which is 23t brushed or 12 bl.

or you can use ur plastic tub tb03 in Super Stock with 18t bl or sport tuned brushed.

Dont you want to please do Super Stock now in the finals because we need the numbers in that class.

@ Sam: you can use your ta05 in super stock to with a sport tuned. what you think?

Congrats to all the guys that ran this weekend, was a lot of racing, but we had a great time.

Well done must be said to Nev for his achievements, his dedication to the series as well as his brilliant race results earning him championship honors.

Congrats.

The final weekend also saw brilliant racing from:

Abdul in Minis and GT, very good driving getting himself involved in some close racing.
Matt did very well in F1 considering he raced on the track for the first time.
Creslyn drove well in F1 qualies.
Sam raced his heart out but his cars let him down on some good results.
Trist did very well, earning himself his first ever heat win.

Well done guys, it was a very competitive weekend, and we all did well.
