OK , so now we are moving to Protea ????? Is this track not suited to the faster cars ??? no more pillars ?? affraid
I know Paul and I have not been around lately , but we are both keen on ProGT and even more so with a bigger track lay out . I would be very sorry to see that class go .
Same goes for F1 , is the tennis court service not more suited to the F1's ? F1's can be frustrating , but you learn so much from them .
I have an FF03 and would love to have a class !!! I say keep it just FF03's , to try and keep the price down . But if it's going to bring more guys to the class by opening it up to more chassies so be it !!

SO NOW WHAT !!!!!

I also like the idea of a F103GT class , that sounds like fun , but maybe to much at this stage !!!!

I thought this coming Thursday was Porsche cup and F1 with a heat of ProGT ?? But I see it has changed

Sorry I only read first page !!!!!!

FF03 got to be 17,5T brushless , come on guys we can't introduce a new class and go back to prehistoric time !!!!
The existing class is brushless ( with Gt ) mine is setup as such and I don't want to go and change it back !!! I'd have to buy a motor and find a speedo somewhere !!!
Combining GT and ProGt gets my approval Very Happy

Welcome back Duck... bounce

Ok, we have been discussing FFO3's.

The only way in is for another class to go.....however, someone came up with the idea of combining GT & Pro GT together to make a GT Mod Class. 13.5 and 17.5 together. We still have to check times at the court to still see if it can.

If so, this then opens a slot for the FF class, my suggestion was to make it a Hot Hatch class only running sport back bodies, as per pics. Motor or class rules still need to be confirmed. So no need to panic yet about the motor rule.

Re: Calendar

Sorry for the lack of following it, but we had, as you know, the Steenberg hick-up, and last week we were rained out. So I have had to re-adjust it again.

No problem Ty . It's going to be like 4 weeks on the trot for Paul and I !!!! Not sure that's possible , but we will try .

FF03 has got to be brushless ?? 17,5T stock settings ???

Paul has just bought a stock brushless system for GT !!! So if we combine Gt and ProGt ( great idea ) then he's just going to have to buy a FF03 Surprised

Hatchbacks body wise is a great idea .

I ran a F103Gt ( with touring rims and tyres ) and it was way easier to drive than an F1 . Could be an option for one series of F1 ? Quite easy to convert an F1 to Gt and we could run the LMP bodies ( much more difficult to find ?? )

17.5 could work, the obvious transplant from mini to FF sounds like the way to go.

As for the F1 guys....well, thats up to the guys who run it, so I personally dont mind which way that goes, however, the F1 class has been getting some good support lately.

F1 F1 F1 all the way. f103gt is for the guys who cant drive f1 LOL cheers A good thing about the court at protea is that foams work too for F1 so no need to import tires just to be able to drive the car in a straight line. We are allowed foams for F1???? am i correct

We are also thinking of running foams for the faster class....GT Mod ....but this again will have to be confirmed. All others should remain on rubber.

Lets see

Why should all others remain on rubber? We now have the perfect surface to run foams, why not take advantage of that? And besides, duck just bought a tyre truer!!! Laughing Laughing

Laughing Laughing I wonder if Hamish still wants to give his *coughkakcough* 103 away for free??? pirat

What you mean more money? I'm sitting with about 10 sets of foams from 3 years ago that I used now at CC and they still work perfectly. Foams are about R90 for 2, that's cheaper than rubber, and the rubber and foams are going to wear roughly the same on the court surface, the rubbers might even take a bit of a harder beating due to the grip and start forming that ridge on the inside??? Anyway, was a suggestion, my vote if it goes that far will be for foams!!! cheers

Yes you have ten sets !!! Rest of us have to buy ?? Then skim to size , then keep twenty different pinions in stock as they wear down and the ratio changes ???

I'll certainly try then in F1 , but not in the other classes

Nooit Sam, Duck has mentioned it all perfectly.

Plus, the slower classes on rubber will last. Its all about fair affordable racing.

You still have to buy rubbers!!! cyclops Besides, the soft rubbers we've ALL got from running in the parking lots are not going to be beneficial on this surface, they're going to wear out in no time at all and they're too soft, so money is going to have to be spent no matter which way it goes.
After being in rc a little while you should have enough pinions from the various classes to suffice, the trueing is the only problem, but if your car is setup right and you rotate from left to right you shouldn't have to true them, and you don't have to true out of the box unless you're a seasoned pro and don't want the added rotational mass.

You could offer the guys a trueing service for 5 bucks a set or something seeing as you've got the fancy gizmo now, I'll be first in line cause my cars never seem to be setup right!! Very Happy Laughing Laughing

Noways am I truing tyres , you can come do them yourself , for free Evil or Very Mad

If the surface is so abrasive aren't the foams going to wear down quick ??

Your 5 year old stock is going to benifit from a skim !!!

I did them at CC on a borrowed truer(thanks uncle Thinus), but if you're offering a DIY for free there's no harm in shaving that 1/2mm off the inside tyres to get them just perfect again, shot dot!! cheers cheers

Foams and rubbers will wear at about the same rate, just depends on each individual as to how long they want to use their specific rubbers or foams before shodding their cars with a new set, I know I'll be drifting around on rims before a new set gets donned that's for sure!!! Laughing Laughing
